Hex - Hospital

After Eliot left, Nyx mostly slept. It was really all he could do. Even with the painkillers, he ached all over. He knew he'd heal, and fast, but right now it was all misery. It didn't help that they had him on iron, making his magic sluggish. He wasn't with it enough to make up some lie about being allergic or whatever he had to say to get off it.

He wasn't sure what time it was when the lights came back on, another nurse coming through to check his vitals. Morning, maybe? He knew they'd kicked Eliot out last night, since it was already well past visiting hours when he'd been brought in, but he had no idea how long he'd been here.

His phone had been chiming all night, but a nurse had plugged it in to charge across the room, encouraging him to rest.

"You alright?" Hex asked with concern, noticing the shift in Nyx as he rambled.

"Yes, yeah, sorry," Nyx said awkwardly. "Just trying to remember everything that happened the other night. I was a bit out of it when I stepped outside."

Gods was that an understatement.

Hex reached up to scratch his hair, looking a bit sheeping when he asked, "How high were you?"

"I'd taken a few things, and I'd been drinking..."

And been bitten several times.

"I was wasted."

[just_hex]

Hex nodded. Nyx had already been tipsy when he'd last seen him.

"And they probably gave you the good stuff here, yeah?" he asked, gesturing to the bag of fluid.

"Yeah," Nyx purred. "They're giving me iron too though. My magic isn't working."

[just_hex]

"Does it need to?" Hex asked. "I can go give them what for and make them quit..."

[tempting_the_fates]

"You could take me home," Nyx said softly.

[just_hex]

"Just pick you up and walk out the doors? I'm sure no one would be cross," he chuckled.

[tempting_the_fates]

"I could leave though, right? I can ask to go? I'll heal faster at home with my magic," he insisted. "Ask them? We could go home, you can look after me. I can tell Will I'm okay."

[just_hex]

Hex was certain that was a terrible idea, but Nyx might be right about the magic.

"I could go ask," he said. "...In a minute."

Nyx pouted a little, then moved over a little so Hex could sit on the bed with him.

"Did you have a good night at least?"

[just_hex]

"I guess. Yeah. Especially early when you were on stage," he replied.

"I miss getting wasted," he admitted. "It just takes too much."

[tempting_the_fates]

"I could get you wasted, " Nyx said. "When I recover, I could give you a real treat."

[just_hex]

"You could try," he shrugged. "It's been ages..."

He trailed off, smiling at the prospect.

Nyx smiled, starting to purr again.

It wound up being hours before he was allowed to leave. More scans, more tests... But it seemed Nyx had gotten off easy. The bleeding had stopped, and other than the broken rib it was just a lot of bruising and swelling. They'd sent him on his way with some heavy pain killers and a demand he take it easy for the next two weeks at least.

A car came to fetch them, his manager promising via text to keep people off his back until he was feeling better- Adding that they didn't want to see him pop up in the papers until he was all better.

"Not looking forward to being trapped in the flat for weeks," he noted with a small frown.

"I'll entertain you, I promise," he volunteered.

"You can play pampered prince and enjoy being pampered a bit?"

"Or, we could fuck on pain killers for the next few weeks," Nyx suggested cheerfully as they pulled up to the flat.

"You're a nightmare invalid, you know that?" Hex laughed warmly.

He waited for Nyx, then kept an arm around him to steady him as they made their way to bed.

"I'm a dream," Nyx purred, letting Hex lead him to bed. He took a moment to change, not wanting to struggle with his clothes and using magic to wash up and slip into pyjamas. It was never as nice as a proper shower, but it was enough. At least he didn't smell like the hospital or the party anymore as he carefully got back into bed.

"I'm starving," he admitted.

"Me too," Hex agreed, though it came as a surprise to no one.

He was never not hungry.

"I can raid the kitchen or order delivery," or both thought Hex as he pulled up the covers and fluffed the pillows around Nyx.

"Let's order in. Who even knows what's in the fridge," Nyx laughed as he did his best to get comfortable.

[just_hex]

"Preference?" Hex asked, pulling out his phone.

[tempting_the_fates]

"Mmm, how about a curry?" Nyx suggested, settling in a little as he watched Hex with a soft smile.

[just_hex]

He hadn't even cleared his memories since the last time he'd ordered a curry so he pulled up their last order.

"Anything extra?" he asked, eyes and fingers all over the phone with food on the line.
