Season Finale

It was a partly closed set today, only a few crew and actors who needed to be there. Spoilers, right?

Nyx was reviewing the changes to the script, perched on a chair off to the side of the cameras. He'd seen Hex, had seen House hanging around as well, though he was in his own little world as he turned the page and reviewed the highlighted parts. However, he did glance up when he noticed one of them heading his way.

"Mmmmm," House said, opening the menu. "Honda builds bikes for people who want to ride. Indian builds bikes for people who want to be seen riding. Which is fine. If you want to spend more time polishing chrome than going anywhere. Or just want an overpriced, oil-leaking cosplay accessory you have to sacrifice a goat to every time you want to leave the driveway."

"I'm getting lobster," Nyx said, not really taking in the conversation around him while he was fixated on the idea of food. Good food. "We should have a starter to share as well..."

Hex arched a brow at House's strong opinion about motorcycles and decided he didn't know enough to do anything but further annoy the man.

"A starter is a good idea," he agreed, knowing if Nyx said it it was because he wanted it.

"You pick," House said to Nyx. "Perhaps something ridiculously unhealthy."

Nyx pursed his lips together, looking thoughtful, his chin jutting out just a bit as he read the menu again.

"We could get crab dip. ...Oh, or smoked salmon bites with shallot sauce? That could be good. I want to eat something I don't usually have while I actually have an appetite."

"Get both. We'll eat it," he nodded, looking to House to encourage this...or at least agree.

"Yeah you look like you could eat a lot," House said with a slight quirk of his lips, and then waived down the waitress to order the appetizers.

Nyx smiled, letting Greg order, then asking the waitress for a drink as well.

"I feel like I haven't been out to eat in ages," he admitted to them.

"Take away in bed is good, but it's fun to get the whole experience, yeah?" Hex replied. "I'm glad you feel good today."

“Appetite’s a good sign," said House. "Means the meds are hitting what they need to hit and the rest of you is adjusting appropriately."

"I've been smoking pot, it helps," Nyx admitted.

Hex nodded in agreement.

"Helps really well," he confirmed.

“Nausea control, appetite stimulant, mood elevation—frankly, it’s doing more for you than half the crap the hospital pharmacy stocks,” House said with a shrug. “Plus it’s fun.”

"Well, I went to the dispensary and got loads. Some rolled, some in gummies... Oh, a vape too. I'll gladly share," Nyx shrugged.

Hex was surprised by the offer, but only because he'd never thought to ask.

"If you want," he smiled.

“Well. Sharing is caring,” House said, just as the waitress returned with their starters. “Or at least therapeutic.”

"It'll be fun. We can smoke a bit, then watch a movie," Nyx suggested. "I just got that new telly installed in my room, it's huge. We can just relax, a reward for a good day's work."

Hex smiled to hear Nyx excited about the plan...and thrilled to hear him invite House to his bedroom. He was aware of what Nyx's private space meant to him.

"That'd be boss. What movie?" he asked as he reached for the first starter.

House looked a touch surprised. He hadnt exactly been thinking about the three of them… hanging out together. And why did Hex seemed so thrilled?

But Nyx seemed happy too.

“If we’re high, then definitely something stupid.”

"I'll watch whatever you guys like, I don't actually know that many movies," Nyx admitted. "Funny works for me though."

"I like John Candy," Hex mentioned as he got some dip. "Genius at being stupid."

House reached over Hex to scoop up some dip as well. "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles," he said, and then looked at Nyx. "One guy is a misanthropic bastard and the other’s so pathologically nice he makes Wilson look edgy. They’re stuck together, everything goes wrong, and you end up kind of liking both of them despite their utter incompatibility." He ate the chip, then added, "Plus Steve Martin's slow descent into madness is basically my Tuesday."

Nyx was happily picking at the food, enjoying actually being able to eat for a change.

"Sure, that sounds alright," he agreed. Though in all honesty, they could have suggested anything and he'd have said sure. It was just nice to see them sort of getting along. "We can go back to mine after dinner, have a smoke and watch telly."

House's summary of the movie made Hex smile, but basically my Tuesday brought out a deep, warm laugh.

"It's clinched," he said. "Sounds like the best way to end the day."

House was really trying, for Nyx’s benefit, to not be annoyed by everything about Hex, including how nice he was being. Maybe being high will help.

“Sounds like a plan,” he said.
