Hex
His ears were back and he hissed loudly as the man tried to catch hold of his arm.
"I said no," Nyx said, baring his teeth. They were down one of the many winding halls near the residential area, alone, but not hidden.
"I don't see why you're being so difficult. I paid you last time, and I'll pay you again. Come on, just come back to mine," the man snapped, glancing around to make sure no one was watching as he caught Nyx around the middle to try and haul him along.
Nyx hissed louder and gave him a kick in the shin. "I said I would not take you as a client again!"
The man hadn't been too rough or violent, those things didn't bother Nyx at all. No, this man had almost been too friendly, calling often after their encounter and sending Nyx little gifts. Usually he loved that sort of thing, but this man... He made him uneasy.
"I have money, you could just let me look after you," the man said, trying to soothe him. "I could be good for you..."
Nyx bit down hard on his shoulder, sharp teeth piercing through the man's uniform. That seemed to be the final straw as the man moved to strike him.

"Security emergency" he barked as he struck the badge on his chest.
"No emergency," the man tried to assure him.
"I promise, there is," Hex answered, then struck him with a hard fist.
This was where he'd always gotten in trouble on Betazed. His temper...and the rush and thrill he felt hitting a man like this.
More than once.
no subject
"He tried to take me. Tried to strike me," he told them, pointing at his former client.
"And that psycho bit me!" the man snapped in return.
"Self defense," Nyx said, voice low and rumbling softly. "You were restraining me."
no subject
"He was carrying the prince over his shoulder. That's abduction," he said simply.
The man continued to protest a bit as they guided him away, the pair of them instructed to please make a report for the case as soon as possible. Hex nodded, then looked to Nyx once they were alone.
"You fight well," he said. "But he would never fight fair. I hope you don't mind my involvement."
no subject
Nyx was purring to himself, looking at Hex in a new light.
"I don't mind. It's good. You struck him hard, and he deserved it," he decided, keeping close even though there was no need to now. He was a petite being, but he nuzzled Hex's shoulder slightly as he continued to purr.
Mine, that's what his actions said.
no subject
Hex's lips twitched in a cautious smile.
"Hitting hard is why I am on this station instead of my world," he said. "Such a thing is deeply wrong where I am from."
He'd certainly never received this sort of positive reaction at home. Never.
no subject
"Where are you going? I'll come," he decided, happily inviting himself along.
no subject
"I was taking a sample back to the med bay to let the doctor examine it," he said. "I...would enjoy the company. Are you well? Did he hurt you?"
no subject
"I am fine, I will wait outside the med bay though. I don't like it there," Nyx said, pulling a face. "But I will wait," he promised again.
no subject
"Would you like to join me for food when I am finished?" he asked, then remembered Nyx liked clarity.
"I would like it if you did."
no subject
Nyx considered the offer, then nodded.
"Yes, alright, I would like that," he decided. He liked eating after all, and he suddenly found himself eager to spend more time with Hex.
no subject
Never in his life had anyone wanted to spend more time with him once they'd seen what he was really like. He'd never had anyone appreciate it. Not at home, not in the fleet. Violence isn't the answer, Hex had been repeated to him for years.
As he looked at the handsome prince, part of him thought all those voices were wrong. Sometimes violence was absolutely the answer.
"Have you found a food that pleases you yet? We can eat that," he suggested.
no subject
"Yes, Robin has told me how to order some things close to what I had at home," Nyx nodded, starting to purr again, and resisting the temptation to nuzzle against him again.
Hex was nice. Hex was strong. Hex would look after him, he had decided.
no subject
"I would love to try something familiar to you," Hex replied.
"How fortunate Robin could help. I think, sometimes, there's nothing he doesn't know," he continued as they entered the lift to take them to the bay.
no subject
"He is old," Nyx said as they waited in the lift. "His kin knew mine. We might even be close in blood, our kinds."
It was more than Nyx would usually share with anyone.
no subject
"How interesting," he smiled, the idea that Nyx was entirely alone warming him.
"I've always wondered about his kind. They look alike," he noted.
no subject
Nyx hummed and nodded.
"They are good lovers," he added helpfully. "Not as good as me though," he insisted, oblivious to how arrogant that sounded.
no subject
Hex tilted his head and looked at Nyx curiously.
"Robin is a very good lover," he agreed. "What makes you better?"
no subject
"I just am," Nyx huffed, ears going a little flat at the question. "People pay me for the pleasure of my company."
no subject
"You're clearly so good that some men will foolishly try to steal you and keep you," he noted.
"...No one has ever wanted me like that," he admitted with a soft chuckle.
no subject
"No?" Nyx asked, leaning over and nuzzling him again, before lightly biting his shoulder. Just a ghost of teeth and a soft purr.
"I might want you," he suggested. "More than a meal."
no subject
Hex's heart beat faster with excitement and his hand moved to touch Nyx, but then the lift stopped and the doors opened.
He froze.
Cleared his throat.
"I...have to drop this off before it spoils," he said weakly. "Then...yes."
no subject
"Fine," Nyx said, following him out, but not heading inside the lab. He lingered by the door though, eyes sharp as he watched people walk by.
no subject
Hex did his job, eager to leave in a way he normally wasn't. Rushing in a way he never did. He barely bid anyone goodbye before he was dashing out again.
"Quick as I could," he told Nyx, thrilled he was still there.
no subject
"Very prompt," Nyx replied with a little purr. "We go to yours," he decided, pushing away from the wall and lingering at Hex's side as they started to walk.
"You're a healer? You know House?" he asked.
no subject
"Yes," he nodded. "My job is called nurse. House is a doctor. Different, but both healers."
His quarters meant a trip back to the lift. It wasn't until the doors closed that he felt bold enough.
"I want to touch you," he announced, not making any move yet to do it.
