His ears were back and he hissed loudly as the man tried to catch hold of his arm.

"I said no," Nyx said, baring his teeth. They were down one of the many winding halls near the residential area, alone, but not hidden.

"I don't see why you're being so difficult. I paid you last time, and I'll pay you again. Come on, just come back to mine," the man snapped, glancing around to make sure no one was watching as he caught Nyx around the middle to try and haul him along.

Nyx hissed louder and gave him a kick in the shin. "I said I would not take you as a client again!"

The man hadn't been too rough or violent, those things didn't bother Nyx at all. No, this man had almost been too friendly, calling often after their encounter and sending Nyx little gifts. Usually he loved that sort of thing, but this man... He made him uneasy.

"I have money, you could just let me look after you," the man said, trying to soothe him. "I could be good for you..."

Nyx bit down hard on his shoulder, sharp teeth piercing through the man's uniform. That seemed to be the final straw as the man moved to strike him.

Hex did his job, eager to leave in a way he normally wasn't. Rushing in a way he never did. He barely bid anyone goodbye before he was dashing out again.

"Quick as I could," he told Nyx, thrilled he was still there.

"Very prompt," Nyx replied with a little purr. "We go to yours," he decided, pushing away from the wall and lingering at Hex's side as they started to walk.

"You're a healer? You know House?" he asked.

"Yes," he nodded. "My job is called nurse. House is a doctor. Different, but both healers."

His quarters meant a trip back to the lift. It wasn't until the doors closed that he felt bold enough.

"I want to touch you," he announced, not making any move yet to do it.

Nyx looked a little amused, then nodded, peeling his shirt off and over his head.

"You can touch. It's why I'm here. You can do more than touch. You saved me. I am thankful."

He moved in, both hands warm as he took hold of Nyx.

"You owe me nothing," he said softly.

"I'd save you a thousand times, from every monster," he promised.

"I will seek out danger then," Nyx said with a toothy grin, his teeth a little sharp looking. "Make certain you have reason to come find me..."

His breath caught, just briefly, and his fingers dug in as he held on tighter.

"Would you?" he asked, breathless and hungry.

"I might," Nyx said, purring louder when Hex held him tighter. His own hands slid up the other man's chest to his shoulders, and he arched himself against him.

"I like a little danger. Don't you?" he asked. "I think maybe you do. I think maybe you like it more than others know."

Hex's hands were rough, dry, and his grip solid as he held on.

"You can tell?" he asked.

Then grinned.

"You are right."

"I could smell it on you when you struck that man," Nyx admitted, seeing no reason to be coy as his fingertips traced invisible patterns on his skin. "It was arousing, I felt aroused. ...You also smelled of... Something else though. Something I didn't recognize."

"So you can read people as easily as I can, but with your nose instead of emotion?" he asked. "Because what you smelled was what the Regulators called bloodlust."

[tempting_the_fates]

"You can't smell it?" Nyx asked. "Odd. ...I like that word though. Bloodlust. That's a good word. I will keep it."

[just_hex]

"Not normally, and not myself. But there's a scent at..."

He paused, biting his lip to stop the confession, but then realized if he could tell anyone, he could tell Nyx.

"There are fights I go to sometimes. They are...unsanctioned. I'd say that smells like bloodlust."

[tempting_the_fates]

"I want to go, you'll take me," Nyx decided. "When is the next?"

[just_hex]

"I don't know, but I can ask," he said.

He pulled out his device to shoot off a quick message about time and moments later he got a string of numbers.

"Tonight at ten bells," he said. "If I say yes, I won't know where until a few minutes before. And, if you like, I'll fight..."

"Will they give you something if you win?" Nyx asked curiously, still touching and stroking Hex's chest.

[just_hex]

"The prize is latinum, usually," he said. "Have you seen what that is?"

Every touch sent a shock of hot desire though him and he was happy to explore Nyx's shape as well.

"No. What is it?" Nyx asked, always a bit sulky looking when he didn't know something. "Tell me."

[just_hex]

"It's...valuable. Money, some places. Good for trade," he explained, giving Nyx a not terribly good description as they made their way to his quarters.

He couldn't keep his hands off Nyx's bare skin, trying not to cross any lines even as his touch grew rougher with every purr of approval.

"I have a lot. One day, if I ever want a home on a planet, or a small private vessel, I'll be set," he told him.

He didn't tell anyone about his plans or his savings. Few even knew he fought at all.

"Why not go now?" Nyx asked. "Why not leave now? This place is dull. You could have better things."

[just_hex]

"I haven't found anywhere I'd rather be," he replied. "And no place sounds like fun all alone."

He smiled softly.

"Sounds like fun with someone like you, though..."

[tempting_the_fates]

"I am fun," Nyx agreed, ears perking up a bit.

He was already half bare, and started to tug at Hex's clothes.

Hex nodded once and reached for the hem to peel it off. He had the body of a fighter, of an athlete, his strength written in every muscle cut.

"How much fun?" he asked, catching Nyx's wrist tight enough to hold, but broken easily if the prince desired.

Nyx looked startled, but to his credit didn't lash out. Instead he tilted his head slightly, considering Hex.

He was very fit, and his gaze lingered on his chest a moment, before meeting his gaze again.

"I don't know how you measure fun, but I'd rate myself exceptionally high," he decided, before testing the other man a little in return by leaning in and biting down on his shoulder just hard enough to hurt.

Hex's breath hitched and he caught hold of Nyx to keep him close.

"That's fun," he confirmed...when he could catch his breath.
