Hex
His ears were back and he hissed loudly as the man tried to catch hold of his arm.
"I said no," Nyx said, baring his teeth. They were down one of the many winding halls near the residential area, alone, but not hidden.
"I don't see why you're being so difficult. I paid you last time, and I'll pay you again. Come on, just come back to mine," the man snapped, glancing around to make sure no one was watching as he caught Nyx around the middle to try and haul him along.
Nyx hissed louder and gave him a kick in the shin. "I said I would not take you as a client again!"
The man hadn't been too rough or violent, those things didn't bother Nyx at all. No, this man had almost been too friendly, calling often after their encounter and sending Nyx little gifts. Usually he loved that sort of thing, but this man... He made him uneasy.
"I have money, you could just let me look after you," the man said, trying to soothe him. "I could be good for you..."
Nyx bit down hard on his shoulder, sharp teeth piercing through the man's uniform. That seemed to be the final straw as the man moved to strike him.

"Okay," Nyx purred happily, curling up against Hex. He felt safe there, not that he'd admit it.
His fingers traced lines on the other man's chest, tracing invisible lines and shapes.
"I like you," he said quietly.
no subject
Hex smiled, his eyes slipping closed.
"I like you, too. Very, very much," he told him. "I'd like to see you all you want, hmm? All the time."
He nuzzled close, but kept his hold loose enough to easily get free.
no subject
Nyx purred louder, nodding and nuzzling Hex's shoulder. His ears twitched slightly as they pressed against Hex's skin, soft like velvet.
no subject
As he lay there, holding Nyx and nuzzling against him to breathe him in and enjoy how soft he was, Hex realized that open, raw feeling wasn't going away. It wasn't being met, as it expected to be, and he didn't know how to make it go away. The only way to soothe it at all was to hold Nyx close in a possessive arm.
"I like that sound," he said after listening to Nyx purr in what seemed to be contentment.
He wished he knew. He wished he could feel the prince like everyone else...
Except he didn't. He liked the challenge.
no subject
Nyx purred louder at that, letting his walls down just a little. Just a tiny bit. A fraction... It was the closest he'd been to calm since arriving.

Nyx slept a while, but eventually the sound woke him up. His eyes darted around as he took it all in, and eventually he yawned and stretched as he settled on his back.
"How is it raining?" He wondered a loud.
no subject
Hex woke when he moved, and when Nyx asked, he smiled.
"I recorded the sound when I went on holiday," he said. "I had the computer capture the sound of the storm, and now it plays while I sleep and I dream of that holiday," he explained.
More often than not, he didn't dream of the holiday. But he'd found that if he played the sound, his dreams remained peaceful.

"I miss rain," Nyx said quietly. "Do you? I imagine you must if you listen to it..."
no subject
"I miss rain. Wind. Weather. All the weather," he nodded. "And green and growing things. Were there jungles on your world? I like jungles..."
no subject
"Forests, mostly. It was colder where I lived. Sometimes it was sunny though. I miss that too, laying in the grass in the sun... Your home was warm or cold?" He asked.
no subject
"My home, where I grew up, was cold. It was on the coast, but always dreary," he said. "I like worlds with warmer stars. That's why I left."
no subject
"You don't miss it?" Nyx asked, still purring a bit as he kept close to enjoy the warmth of Hex's body.
no subject
"Nah, mate. I don't miss my home. I do miss planets, though," he admitted. "I hope me next placement will be on a world, yeah?"
no subject
"Placement?" Nyx asked.
no subject
"When me contract is up, I'm getting out of space. It's not for me," he said.
no subject
"Oh. When is that?" Nyx asked, not shy about being nosy.
no subject
"Three months, three weeks, four days," Hex answered, counting down the days. "I can hardly wait."
no subject
"But we are having fun now. I'll have to find someone else to play with," Nyx sulked.
no subject
"Don't you want to find a world? A place with rain. Sunrises. Forests?" Hex said.
"I...would follow you," he added softly.
no subject
"I don't know... Maybe? It's safe here though. I'm safe here," Nyx said, showing just a hint of vulnerability.
no subject
Hex tightened his hold just a bit.
"I will keep you safe," he promised.
no subject
Nyx started to purr again, closing his eyes as he settled against Hex's chest.
"Okay," he said quietly.
no subject
Hex smiled softly and closed his eyes as well. He drifted off content. He'd never felt he had a purpose the way he did when he thought of keeping Nyx happy and cared for.
no subject
Nyx slept until morning, waking when his stomach started to growl. He was hungry, and he made an annoyed sound before nipping at Hex's shoulder.
"Wake up. It's breakfast," he insisted, nipping again.
