Hex
His ears were back and he hissed loudly as the man tried to catch hold of his arm.
"I said no," Nyx said, baring his teeth. They were down one of the many winding halls near the residential area, alone, but not hidden.
"I don't see why you're being so difficult. I paid you last time, and I'll pay you again. Come on, just come back to mine," the man snapped, glancing around to make sure no one was watching as he caught Nyx around the middle to try and haul him along.
Nyx hissed louder and gave him a kick in the shin. "I said I would not take you as a client again!"
The man hadn't been too rough or violent, those things didn't bother Nyx at all. No, this man had almost been too friendly, calling often after their encounter and sending Nyx little gifts. Usually he loved that sort of thing, but this man... He made him uneasy.
"I have money, you could just let me look after you," the man said, trying to soothe him. "I could be good for you..."
Nyx bit down hard on his shoulder, sharp teeth piercing through the man's uniform. That seemed to be the final straw as the man moved to strike him.

"Placement?" Nyx asked.
no subject
"When me contract is up, I'm getting out of space. It's not for me," he said.
no subject
"Oh. When is that?" Nyx asked, not shy about being nosy.
no subject
"Three months, three weeks, four days," Hex answered, counting down the days. "I can hardly wait."
no subject
"But we are having fun now. I'll have to find someone else to play with," Nyx sulked.
no subject
"Don't you want to find a world? A place with rain. Sunrises. Forests?" Hex said.
"I...would follow you," he added softly.
no subject
"I don't know... Maybe? It's safe here though. I'm safe here," Nyx said, showing just a hint of vulnerability.
no subject
Hex tightened his hold just a bit.
"I will keep you safe," he promised.
no subject
Nyx started to purr again, closing his eyes as he settled against Hex's chest.
"Okay," he said quietly.
no subject
Hex smiled softly and closed his eyes as well. He drifted off content. He'd never felt he had a purpose the way he did when he thought of keeping Nyx happy and cared for.

Nyx slept until morning, waking when his stomach started to growl. He was hungry, and he made an annoyed sound before nipping at Hex's shoulder.
"Wake up. It's breakfast," he insisted, nipping again.
no subject
Hex opened his eyes and smiled softly.
"Good morning to you, too," he said. "What do you want for breakfast?"
He dragged a lazy hand down the shape of him, more pleased than he could say that Nyx had stayed all night.
no subject
"Fish," Nyx said, nuzzling at Hex's shoulder again. "And then attention and you again," he decided, happily making demands.
no subject
Hex smiled and breathed in.
"Computer, fish and chips program one," he said.
The replicator got to work.
"It's exactly like this place on Earth. You might like Earth, it's nice," he told him, nuzzling in to kiss him as the food began to smell good enough to make his stomach growl.
no subject
Nyx purred louder at the attention, until the smell of food has him crawling out of bed.
"Tell me about Earth. You like it there? You want to live there?" He asked as he took some food.
no subject
"I enjoy it. There are many places to go, all so very different. It's clean, and where I like to go...warm," he smiled, getting up to get ready for the day while Nyx enjoyed the meal.
"I really like a place called Brazil," he said, then told Nyx of the heat and humidity and plants and animals, and the magnificent river. "But there are huge cities, too. San Francisco is incredible."
no subject
"I like sun, but not too hot. I like soft beds, fresh water, good food..." Nyx said, listing things off while he happily sat and ate in the nude.
no subject
"Makes sense, yeah? I figured a prince would enjoy the best tjings," he smiled appreciatively.
Hex joined him to eat, not bothering with clothes either.
no subject
Nyx nodded, purring a little as he ate.
"Yes, nice things," he agreed.
no subject
The sound Nyx made warmed him deep inside. Hex enjoyed it, realizing it wasn't part of his empathic ability. It was just a reaction.
I reaction he enjoyed.
"Would you like to see something nice?" Hex asked bashfully.
no subject
Nyx had another big bite, then nodded. "Yes, show me."
no subject
Hex was going to need to get clothes anyway, and in his closet was a safe. He took Nyx to it and showed him a stack of metal rectangles. Heavy, dark, but shimmering as it was turned this way and that.
"It's not very pretty, but that's what I win when I fight. That's going to fund me future," he said.
Behind him, the safe was nearly full.
no subject
"Shiny," Nyx said, nodding his approval. "You hide them in a box though?"
no subject
Hex nodded, thought a moment, then took a breath.
"It's latinum, which isn't good for much on the station, but it's valuable everywhere else. Some worlds value it more than others. I keep it hidden because it's me future and I don't want anyone to take it before I need it, yeah?" he explained.
no subject
"Oh. That makes sense, I guess," Nyx nodded, moving to get himself dressed.
